My Entrepreneurship Story

My very first experience with entrepreneurship was back in high school in my gaming technology class. I was part of a team that competed in 3-D modeling and animation competitions for the organization Business Professionals of America (BPA). Throughout the school year we would go around and market to local businesses to fund our gaming program and sponsor our trips for our national BPA competitions. I feel this is a great example of entrepreneurship because my team and I were able to go and get money to help advance and improve our school’s gaming program for future students. This was the first time a group a students went out and performed marketing for the school’s gaming program. In addition, our efforts gave future students the opportunity of traveling around the country to compete in competitions for a low financial cost.

I hope to further develop my innovative and entrepreneurship mindset by taking ENT3003. One of the main reasons I enrolled in ENT3003 was to get in an entrepreneurship mindset and learn exactly what it means to be an entrepreneur. By the end of the semester I hope to acquire the tools necessary to go out and start my own business once I graduate.

Below I posted a link to my team's animation from back in high school.

  1. Hey Nick. I really liked you entrepreneurship story. You seem to have a good basis of entrepreneurship being in BPA and advocating for funds for your gaming program. I like how you have an aspiration to open your business when you graduate. Do you have any ideas? Anyways, I really enjoyed reading your post, and learning more about you and what you want to get from the class.

  2. That’s so cool! I wish I had an experience like that in high school. Both the modeling and the marketing aspect sounds extremely interesting, and the type of experience that should be had as a high schooler. I would absolutely categorize that as entrepreneurship, and I think you’re better off from experiencing it. Also, I’m glad you’re in this class. I’m excited to read the rest of your posts because I’m in the course for the same reasons. Nice blog design by he way!
