18A - Create a Customer Avatar


The opportunity I am offering is a health care service that problems low cost health care and health courses to minimum wage workers. My prototypical customer would be a 23-year-old mother who has kids. She works more than one job and is a single parent, so all the costs of raising a kid are on her shoulders. Some of her hobbies are sewing and watching old movies with her teenage son. She has two boys (one is in high school and the other is in college). They both live with her and are dependent on her to some extent. They lie more on the democratic side of politics and currently cannot afford their own health care. The youngest child is on the public school’s insurance program while the oldest son does not have healthcare of his own.

Similarities: 
Some of the things I have in common with this customer is the single mother and being tight on money. I grew up with my mom and we were always struggling to pay the bills, and occasionally I would have to help. We always had health insurance though either through my schools health insurance program or Obamacare.

    Hey Nick, I think that your prototypical customer/ customer avatar is perfectly on point. Especially the situation that you describe as being your ideal customer. I also found it interesting that you related to the situation that you described with your mother being a single mom and struggling to pay the bills. I think you did a great job analyzing your prototypical customer as well as their situation.

    I appreciate that sewing is something your customer avatar does in their free time. I think it is cool how you shared the way you are similar to your costumer avatar. It shows me more of why you chose to take on the issue of health care. I think you did a good job explaining the life of your avatar and why they would need your services.

    I think you did a great job with this post, and you went into a lot of detail about the potential customer that I loved. For example, the political party and the children. I also enjoy the similarities that you pointed out, and I appreciated that you put yourself into the custom avatar. I wish you would have put a picture of the avatar, but otherwise this is perfect. Good job!

25A – What’s Next?

Existing market: I think the next thing for my service is physically getting it going. There is nothing like my service in the market right now. All three of my interviewees stated that the next step is for me to form the company because others get into the market. The health care industry is changing fast and their will be competitors soon. I think to grow my service in the new market is very possible. There are not a lot of competitors right now, so we can set the standard for prices and service packages. We can start in urban areas and move our way into more rural areas once we get a foundation set. Companies are always trying to find way to decrease turnover rates.
