19A – Idea Napkin No. 2


Who am I? I have always been a hard worker. I see everything as a competition and I try to be the best at it. Especially when it comes to technology. I love computers and new technology that play a major role in our everyday lives. In terms of my company, I would probably try to do it on the side from my main job. It is always good to have multiple revenue streams, in case something happens to one of the markets.

What am I offering to my customers? I am providing cheap health care needs to minimum wage workers who cannot afford health insurance.

Who are you offering it to? My demographic mainly consists of young minimum wage workers (typically 18-25ish). They tend to value health insurance below other things, which hopefully my company can resolve since it would be so cheap for companies to purchase.

Why do they care? They care because they would be able to work more since they will be sick less. Plus, they will realize the value of having health insurance has on their everyday lives if they do get sick.

What are my core competencies? I do not think there is any company like mine now. Everyone I know either does not have health insurance because it is too expensive, or their parents pay for it. I think the people who are without health insurance will be able to benefit in so many ways from my service. It will also make companies look better for treating their minimum wage workers well.

In my first idea napkin I did not receive anything negative feedback. But I took the good feedback (summarizing and research) to heart and tried to incorporate more in my post.

    Nick,

    Something I noted is that we are both somewhat similar. I plan on getting multiple streams of income and I am also very competitive. In terms of the core competencies section, employers also pay for health insurance too, not just individuals. My family has insurance through the place they work at. We get lots of cheap benefits through their work which makes a service like the one you are showcasing unnecessary.

    Hey Nick, I really enjoyed reading your second idea napkin. I especially liked what you added under your core competencies. I liked the fact that you distinguished your company from anyone else's. I feel like you took advice given to your and made a more complete, well-rounded idea napkin. Overall, I feel like you did a really great job!

    Hey Nick, I think you did a great job explaining your second idea napkin. I think its so great that there isnt really a company like yours right now. I hope thats a good thing and not meaning it couldnt work. I too was able to take my positive feedback and use it as motivation in the right direction. Great post!

25A – What’s Next?

Existing market: I think the next thing for my service is physically getting it going. There is nothing like my service in the market right now. All three of my interviewees stated that the next step is for me to form the company because others get into the market. The health care industry is changing fast and their will be competitors soon. I think to grow my service in the new market is very possible. There are not a lot of competitors right now, so we can set the standard for prices and service packages. We can start in urban areas and move our way into more rural areas once we get a foundation set. Companies are always trying to find way to decrease turnover rates.
