23A – Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

-          My education (human capital)
o   Having a degree from the University of Florida makes me more reputable since we are in the top 10 public universities in the US.
-          My technology knowledge (human capital)
o   I have worked with all sorts of computers and computer systems, so I feel my company would stay up to date in terms of our ERP systems and security.
-          My sister (works for health insurance company) (human capital)
o   My sister has connections and knowledge in the health care industry. In addition, she is a person I would trust to work with as a business partner.
-          My family friend (partner at KPMG – Atlanta) (human capital)
o   In addition to my sister, he has knowledge and connections within the health care industry and he is trust worthy.
-          Savings (financial)
o   My savings could be used to kick start the business and cover any initial costs to be operational.
-          Network
o   My network consists of a diverse group of people who might be useful in the growth of my business.
-          Project management skills
o   I am very good when it comes to getting a project done.
-          Organization skills
o   I feel a lot of people overlook organization skills. I am a very organized person and feel this would work its way in into my business.
-          Leadership
o   I have held many positions in high school/college. I am very comfortable being in charge and setting goals.
-          Good heartedness
o   I see myself being a very nice person. My company would reflect this in a way since it will be helping the less unfortunate.

I would say my most important resource is my network. This would consist of work professionals, friends and family. My sister for example is very knowledgeable about health care and I would be able to go and ask her questions and advice on what to do. I think it is very important to have a good network if you want your company to grow in the future.
