26A – Celebrating Failure
I believe everyone experiences their own forms of failures
even if they don’t show it. I have failed a lot in my life but have learned
from my failures and have become a better person because of it. This semester I
was taking a lot of classes (17 credits), plus I worked and was involved in
student organizations a lot. I ended up not doing so hot in my business finance
course and must drop it to take it during the summer. The main thing I learned
from this semester is too not put too much onto your plate. It is better to do
a good job on smaller tasks than it is to do a bad job on bigger tasks. I must
learn to manage my time better and realize when I am doing too much. I am the
type of person who accepts challenges, but sometimes you must think before you
accept it and make sure you can handle it.
Nick,
ReplyDeleteI think that your mindset is generally correct in the short run. But in the long run it is a negative way to think. I believe that baby steps are important. You must learn how to crawl before walking. You must learn how to walk before running. One cannot just jump straight into a full out sprint in the short run. However, to believe that you can never sprint because you can't handle it shows a lack of self belief.
Hey Nick. I like your take on how everyone experienced their own forms of failures. That is very impressive you were taking 17 credits while working. This semester was rough on me as well as I was taking 15 credits and working full time. I agree with you it is important not to put too much on your plate because in the end we are all human. I think you have the right attitude towards failure because the only way we can move on from it is to learn and grow from the mistakes that led to failure.
ReplyDeleteHey Nick, I really enjoyed reading about your point of view of failures and your most recent one is something most of us can relate to I'm pretty sure. Spreading yourself to thin is never a good idea because although you know you want to give 100% in all you do thats pretty much impossible when you are doing all the things that you are doing. Anyways I think you did a great job and and you'll kill it in the summer!
