12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Segment: The segment I am choosing in my venture’s market are the low-income workers who work less than 40 hours a week or more than one job.

Interviews: I conducted 3 interviews with people that fell into my desired segment. Two out of the three interviewees shared very similar needs and said they would like to have my services during the winter months when the flu is more common. They also believed that the place they worked (Walmart) was one of the key reasons they would get sick. They are touching things that hundreds of people have touched a day and feel the cleanliness of the store is not where it should be. The third person said it doesn’t matter what time of the year it is because she is very sick prone. Should would benefit from simple things like flu shots and possible vaccines to prevent illness. Whenever these people did get sick, they simply just took off work and dealt with it on their own. A lot of times they wouldn’t even buy medication because it wasn’t in their budget (other people depended on them like children or parents). The Walmart employees said they return to most of the time while they are still sick because they can not talk off too much time from work if any.

Conclusion: From the information I gathered on this segment, I feel they would be benefited with my company’s services. I feel they are aware of the need because when they get sick they are impacted the most. They either must take off work or go to work sick. The other people they work with are also impacted and sense there is a need for my services.
