14A – Halfway Reflection

I have always had an issue with keeping up with assignment deadlines, so I made it my goal to do assignments ahead of time. Typically, when I am on campus and waiting in between classes or going to work I write my blogs. This is more productive because I know when I get home I am going to slack off or focus on other classes (like my finance course).

I remember when I had my first round of exams this semester I was very swamped with work. A lot of my classes typically have deadlines on Fridays and Sundays. When I was studying, I was debating on whether I should write my blog post for the week. In the end, I just pushed through it because I know at the end of the semester it would be worth it when I get the A.

Three tips to being successful in ENT3003 are keeping up with deadline, plan before writing blog posts (because some are very detailed), and don’t think short term. I tend to think of things in the short run and not in the long run. I often regret my performances in classes because I tend to put things off till the last minute and not have enough time. So, think ahead of time is my biggest piece of advice for this sort of course.

  1. Hey Nick,

I think it is good you made a goal to keep up with your assignments ahead of time. I know how easy it is to procrastinate and doing things in advance really helps avoid that. I think your tips for being successful in ENT3003 are very good. One of my biggest issues with this class is doing things the weekend before things are due and it makes it awfully difficult. It doesn't help that this is the busiest semester I have ever had but your suggestion of thinking ahead is a great idea. Good job and keep up the good work!

  2. Hey Nick, I think it is such a good idea to write your blog posts while on campus. I struggle with the same problem. When I am at my apartment, I can get lazy. You are right, these blog posts can be detailed and require more than one days of work. I think you did a great job with coming up with the course tips. Good job!

  3. Hey Nick, I agree with you 100% that its a good idea to do all your assignments while you have time on campus in between classes or what not. Like you I have to get everything done before I go home because I won't want to do anything when I get home. The blogposts, at times can be time consuming and might seem more of a burden then it might be helping you but in the end, like you said, it will be beneficial to you.
